[The end of the latest spell seems to have flushed a few people out of the woodwork.

Kai is in a room that appears to be a large greenhouse. It's mostly empty of plants, which would explain why he's hauling a bag of soil to the far end where several packets of seeds and a few baby potted plants are seated, dressed in worn jeans and a faded t-shirt that is slightly too small for him, probably something he picked out a few years ago and never threw out.

Axel (

conflagrate) is blowing bubbles in one of the main rooms. She hasn't been around at all in the last few months, but it doesn't look like she's been upgraded back into a Lea. Each of the bubbles has smoke in them, and popping them will release the smell of wood burning!

There's a kid of about nine in one of the kitchens, which appears to be full of highly venomous snakes. Oops.

A Naminé is seated on the edge of a fountain, dressed in her normal little dress despite the lingering chill of winter. There's a flush to her cheeks from the cold, but she doesn't seem too bothered as she trails her fingers through the water.

Lastly, that one girl Sora with the broken keyblade is making an appearance again, too. She's stretched out on the floor of a little den-like room with a fireplace, and she's got a pile of... drawings? She's no artist, but she's carefully adding lines to what appears to be a boat design!]

[i was under the impression that all of it was going to be grown regardless of what was started with. but he's going back to his game now, and beating up Dream Eaters as Riku, occasionally muttering at it re: controls and camera angles and how the two combined are making him waste attacks.]

I thought I heard familiar voices.

[Oh no it's a Lea. Kai's doomed. Everyone's doomed. They probably both sensed her from a mile away, but here she comes, casual as hell with a half-empty gallon of ice cream nestled up against her chest.]

Oh, hey!

[Kai is just gonna beam at Lea because why wouldn't he. He's also already kind of covered with dirt, whoops.]

Hey you. Good thing we weren't making out in here or something, that would've been awkward as hell.

[more voices from the 3DS, and then a shift in music back to the cute stuff, with small adorable animal noises. he's tapping away at the screen again instead of pushing buttons.]

I would've kept quiet if that'd been the case. Having fun?

[The question is aimed at Kai, who she also flashes a grin to, as she walks up behind Axel with no care for subtlety to see what he's doing.]

Of course. Want to help?

[Since his husband is being a LAZY BUTT- no he's just offering to be polite. Wanna get down and dirty, Lea?]

[he seems to be steering a tiny version of (boy) Riku around with some Dream Eaters and whacking things with a keyblade. lights and sparkles and visual effects errywhur. he doesn't care if she watches. his current companions seem to be a purple Pricklemane and a red Meow Wow.]

But then what would I do with Riku's ice cream?

[Yeah, she totally stole it from Riku's apartment. It's peanut butter and chocolate swirl, and probably Riku's favorite, and Lea has been eating it as she walks. She's gonna rest an arm on Axel's shoulder when she's close enough, and lean over further to squint down at the game.]

Does she know you have that?

[Kai shoots Lea a look that manages to be equal parts amused and disapproving. Maybe he should be a tattletale!]

[she's enough like him in energy and spirit that he doesn't even react to Lea leaning on him, despite the fact that this is only the second time they've seen each other. hopefully he still doesn't seem like a dangerous wanted criminal to you, Lea, and hopefully anything Riku's told you is suitably at odds with his dorky and nonthreatening appearance.]

I think when she finds out she'll kill you more over breaking into her apartment, rather than stealing her ice cream.

[beat up ALL the Nightmares. i've already forgotten what world is right around when Axel wakes up as Lea and there are comatose Somebodies all over the floor, but he's in that one.]

Of course she doesn't. But, she's the one that said I could stay on her couch whenever.

[Or bed, as it turns out, when Riku's not around to stop her. But she's not telling that part. Also rude, Kai, wow. She is totally at ease with both of them, by the way. Whatever Riku told her about Axel, it was either nice or she just doesn't care.]

I don't think that means helping yourself to her favourite ice cream.

[But okay, he mostly just looks amused now. Not like Riku can't find more, after all... and that's the risk she takes inviting a Lea into her home!]

I dunno, I thought if you invited someone to stay in your home all your food was automatically available to them.

[boss fiiiiight. it's not anything that would look at all familiar to Lea; it's the Wargoyle on Riku's side of Notre Dame. he's mashing buttons and there's a lot of flashy shit happening on the tiny screens.]

[She gestures to Axel with the mostly-free arm, eyes on Kai.]

A guy after my own heart. Want some?

[She's shaking the ice cream at you, Kai. You know you wanna. Also part of her attention is still on the game, but only so much. She remembers Axel telling her about the games, and she's not particularly interested in watching the whole of Riku's story over his shoulder.]

Axel, if you were staying at Riku's, would you go after her ice cream without letting her know first?

[Oh, he looks tempted, but he just laughs softly and shakes his head.]

Thanks, but I'm good for now.

No, but I'm super polite when it comes to that kind of thing, and also I would have devoured everything else before getting to that.

[oh no a cutscene with Disney characters we don't care about. and then Riku doing the thing with the keyhole to leave the world. oh NO is that Axel on the screen now, eating ice cream and listening to Roxas talk about some sad bullshit?]

Way to make me sound impolite.

[She shows off the ice cream a little more to Kai, because that would be even better than eating all of this on her own, but then she becomes aware of what's on the screen now. That voice is strange, but hearing the words coming from it is like being dunked in icewater.]

[Kai just shakes his head when Lea shows the ice cream off, heading closer while brushing the dirt off his hands and onto his shirt.]

It's okay, I'm pretty sure devouring everything else kind of puts a damper on the politeness.

[Axel's gone still, immediately sensing the change in Lea, and being really happy that he's not playing Days or something. x_x fortunately the bit with the clock tower is very brief, and then oh shit it's on to the part with Axel waking up as Lea, with the other four dudes on the floor in the computer room.]

Oh shit. What the hell.

[That's okay, she's basically forgotten about the ice cream at this point. Kai's the one that can probably see her face, and her expression is mostly unreadable. She hadn't realized parts of her life would be in the game to this... extreme, or something. It's unsettling, and that was sure a nice reminder of what she doesn't have anymore. She removes her hand from Axel, settling with it on her hip as she watches the game.]

Guess I shouldn't be surprised.

[He's moving to rest a hand gently on Lea's arm, looking concerned.]

It's strange, isn't it. Seeing it on display so casually.

I can turn it off if it's bugging you.

[he hasn't turned to look at Lea's expression, because things happening on screen that he needs to pay attention to, but he can guess at it. he can only imagine how weird it must be to see stuff like this.]

Sheesh. You two. It's not that bad. Show me when I lost my heart if you want to get that kind of reaction.

[She moves her free hand to scratch through her hair. It's a little awkward, but she's not upset or anything. Just kind of sad in the way anyone is when they miss someone.]

Like I said, it's not really surprising. I just figured the games would have something more interesting to show you.

[He tucks his hands in his pockets with a wry smile.]

Don't ever play Days.

Yeah, seriously. That one was a little rough even for me.

[Chain of Memories mostly brought back gross memories of having to murder Vexen and Larxene and try to murder Marluxia and then make a deal with Zexion and Lexaeus so they wouldn't just kill him.]
