[It's been a while since the zombie attack. After having died, Roxas has been nowhere to be found. Even now his living space has sat empty, and if anyone had attempted to call his phone they would have gotten a recording about the number not being in service.

Roxas hardly knows what to do with himself when he returns. The hallway is vaguely familiar to him at first, and there's a growing sense of needing to get to a particular door. He trots toward it slowly, stopping now and then to look in all directions, as if a zombie might pop out of the darkness.

He can't knock, so some persistent scratching will have to do.]

[Roxas is going to start the tiny kitten cries again when she does, practically demanding she hold him closer. His fur is still more kitten-fluff than actual adult hair, and his tail pinwheels crazily as he squirms. Despite being a kitten, he doesn't seem any worse for wear. Even his legs are undamaged.]

[She glances him over, turning her hands to check, just in case, and then he's back against her chest, though out of reach of her hair. Unless he decides to climb up, which wouldn't surprise her at all. She's crouching down with him to look through the fridge. Sandwich meat?]

[He'd eat dog food if she let him. Not that it would have everything he needs, but beggars in the middle of the night don't get to choose. He starts to climb her shoulder, more intent on getting back to the dangling hair than he is on what she's doing.]

[Dog food seems like a bad idea. A little meat can't be any better, but it can't be any worse, either. She'll pick up some actual cat food in the morning, but for now this will have to do. Maybe he's not even hungry, she doesn't know. She grabs a pack of chicken and closes the fridge again, attempting to keep a good grip on Roxas while he moves and keep him away from her hair. The meat gets tossed on the counter and she goes to the cupboard to grab two small bowls, one of which is quickly filled with water from the sink.]

[He's hungry enough, he just doesn't realize what she has is food yet. When she won't let him at her hair, he eventually decides to flop against her and lick at the hand holding him.]

[Riku laughs a little, shutting off the water and taking the bowl. She's going to crouch down and then sit on the floor, moving Roxas to her lap and the bowl to the floor beside her. Good thing she has long arms so she can reach up and grab the pack of meat after.]

[He's going to use her knee as a boost to try to climb up to her shoulder if she'll let him. Stretching upward, Roxas takes a moment to headbutt Riku's jaw first. Any pokes with kitten claws are accidental.]

[Oof. She leans down to give the top of his head a noisy kiss, then moves her face out of the way. She's sitting with her back to a pair of cabinet doors, so he's free to climb up her shoulder as she opens up the meat.]

[He will do exactly that, then try to wobble his way into turning around to see what she's doing when he hears the noises from the wrapper. This means Riku just got a face full of cat butt if she tried to watch him. Once he's turned around, Roxas headbutts her again.]

[sdfglkd gross. She has enough experience with animals to jerk her head back at least, and when he headbutts her again she nuzzles her face against his. Since she has both hands free now it's easier to get the meat open and tear off a piece from the top, which is going to be held in front of his face. Oooh, what's this?]

[Riku certainly knows how to get his attention. His nose goes crazy as he sniffs at it to investigate. Eventually his tongue peeks out so he can lick daintily at the juices. It doesn't seem to have occurred to him that he's supposed to be swallowing this thing.]

[That's adorable. She should run upstairs and grab her phone, she needs to take so many pictures.]

Go on, take your time. It's not like I'm going anywhere.

[Once he's licked off the excess, Roxas starts batting at it to try to get more. It gets caught on his claw, making him try to shake it off and resulting in raw chicken being flung across the floor. Still interested in it, Roxas makes his way carefully down Riku's front to go get it.]

[She stays put where she is, leaning back and watching him with some amusement. Riku figures if she leaves it he'll eventually figure out what to do.]

[If that involves more sniffing and a few licks before batting it across the floor, she'd be correct. He crouches down when it goes rolling away from him, pupils growing huge before his butt starts wiggling.]

[Well that works. Obviously he's not starving, in that case. Right? Maybe she should get him some milk instead.

First she's gonna grab his tail.]

[He jumps straight up into the air with a squeak, startled. Roxas twists on the way down to try to find the offending thing that grabbed him, landing on his butt and swiping his paws in every direction.]

[She laughs out loud but takes her hand back, keeping both in her lap innocently.]

[He freezes while on his side, his limbs splayed in all directions and claws out, eyes darting to everything that moves. He's up again in a flash, stalking toward Riku's lap sideways before changing his mind halfway there and darting for the opposite side of the kitchen.]

[She laughs even more at that, moving the pack of meat across the floor so she can slide down and lie on her side. She's going to rap her nails against the tile floor to get his attention.]

[He hunches down in a crouch again immediately, eyes locked on her fingers as his pupils grow huge again to see all of his 'enemy'. His rear starts up a slow wiggle as he shifts his hind legs in preparation to pounce, before stopping and starting again. When he finally does move, it's to leap up into the air with his front paws out wide, landing a foot away from her hand.]

[Riku could get hours of entertainment from this kind of activity. She does it again, moving her hand across the floor toward him.]

[It's a good way to wear him out. Doing it now means she won't have to worry much about him going for her toes when she's trying to sleep. Roxas dances back away from her hand, his fur puffing out a little to make himself look bigger than his foe. Feeling braver, he circles around to try to pounce from the side. He ends up much closer than before, barely touching her hand before dashing off again.]

[Sleep? What sleep? He ruined that with his door-scratching. Apparently she's not the only one he's woken up, because a minute later Serein's turning the corner around the counter and stopping at the entrance to the kitchen.]

[Roxas skids to a stop and freezes halfway to the dog. His fur had already started to stand up, but now he looks like a kitten-sized, orange dandelion puff with a pipe cleaner for a tail. Back arching, Roxas slowly starts his most intimidating growl.]
